what's new in marketing?
everything

I hope this post has made a few people realize and appreciate the value that a talented graphic designer can add to your brand.

5 Reasons Why Canva is Hurting Your Brand

1. QUALITY WHEN SENDING PROJECTS TO PRINT

If not set correctly, Canva rasterizes text and compresses images in final PDF files. Quite often this makes it unfit for print purposes.

2. OVERUSE OF DESIGN TEMPLATES

With over 4 Million users on the platform, chances are the template you’re using has been used by a million other people. This does not help your brand recognition or give you credibility when it comes to your marketing material.

3. LOGOS ARE NOT YOUR OWN

Did you know that any logo created using elements or templates from Canva are not yours. They are legally owned by Canva. It’s stated in their terms of use.

4. SOURCE FILES ARE NOT PROVIDED

At some point someone will ask you for an eps, vector or higher quality file…and you won’t have it. If you’re wanting to edit, redesign or modify outside of Canva, you’re out of luck.

5. YOUR TIME IS MORE VALUABLE THAN YOU THINK

Doing the math, you might be surprised at how much a Canva design actually costs you. You might be shocked to find out that a professional designer might actually be able to complete your project faster which would give you more time to do what you do best.
